Sometimes if you want to do something, you just have to do it. Inspired by Va$htie, next week I am going to take my first Blue Print Cleanse journey!!!

This Cleanse will gently rid your body of impurities, regain an alkaline balance and normalize digestion and metabolism. Too often, a cleanse stirs up detox symptoms that are far too intense for the “average” person. BPC is designed for people that would like to give their insides a rest while simultaneously going on about their daily lives. One needn’t gamble with extremes to feel the benefits of a Cleanse.
Prepare, prepare, prepare — we can’t stress this enough. The more prepared you are before your cleanse, the smoother your transition will be. This means: a few days leading up to your cleanse, cut down on all those delicious indulgences we love to love… phase out the coffee, the sugar, the meat and the dairy, and add fresh fruit, greens and veggies at every meal.
LISTEN UP! NO farewell-to-solid- foods-with-a-steak-and-martini dinner the night before you start. You will NOT be a happy camper by the end of Day One. And that’s a promise. So start now!
Every morning, first thing into your body should be room temperature or lukewarm filtered water, (or as hot as you can tolerate). Adding some organic fresh squeezed lemon has a hydrating and alkalizing effect on the body. This is to wake up your system and get things moving. Remember, you may drink herbal tea, whenever you like, and as much as you like. From there, drink your juices in their numbered order as often as you need to. Because we’re not all operating on the same schedule, a good rule of thumb, as far as when to drink (the juice), is to wait about one hour between drinks and to finish the last beverage at least two hours before you sleep. Consuming anything right before bedtime does not allow your insides proper rest. Hydrating as much as possible with water and herbal tea or green tea (this will ease the dreaded “coffee withdrawal headache” if you experience it) in between each juice is also a must.
The best way to prepare for and break your BPC juice cleanse is with our Juice ‘Til Dinner program, but if you prefer to go it alone, here’s some guidance:
3 Days before – If you eat meat, you should phase it out now – lightly steamed or poached fish, with veggies and a salad of course!
2 Days before – Green salads should be your staple at this point. If you’re craving some more sustenance, you may choose a bit of plain brown rice, or a yam or sweet potato.
1 Day before – Raw or lightly steamed vegetables, e.g. spinach, broccoli; try and avoid the more starchy veggies like carrots, beets, squash etc. You may also have a raw green leafy salad with some vegetables.
Post Cleanse
The idea is to break the Cleanse primarily with fruit (day one), then add salads and steamed veggies (day two), legumes (day three), from there you may begin incorporating what ever else it is that you normally eat leaving meat and dairy last to come on board.
Breaking the Cleanse Sample Menu:
Day 1 – A few pieces of fruit spread out through the day, or some fresh squeezed non-pasteurized juice (green/citrus/or fruit). If you wish to drink some freshly squeezed juice, be sure to dilute it with some water.
Day 2 – Raw or lightly steamed vegetables, e.g. spinach, broccoli; try and avoid the more starchy veggies like carrots, beets, squash etc. You may also have a raw green leafy salad with some vegetables.
Day 3 – Green salads should be your staple at this point. If you’re craving some more sustenance, you may choose plain brown rice (a small portion), or a yam or sweet potato.
Day 4 – If you eat meat, you may incorporate some now – lightly steamed or poached fish, with veggies and a salad of course!
Day 5 – Other more “dense” foods are now able to gradually make a come back.
Very Important Note
Remember: better out than in – this is what you need to remind yourself as you cleanse.
You need to keep your digestive tract open and moving. Think of your body as your house. You’ve decided to renovate, buy new furniture, new carpeting, etc. You need to throw out the old stuff first! You cannot have Shabby Chic living with 1970s Brady Bunch polyester: they don’t like one another and a fight will most definitely ensue. One cannot pile new furniture atop old; it’s not a good look.
What’s the best most effective way to throw out the old undigested waste matter? Get a colonic or, if you’re familiar, self-administer an enema. A colonic is safe and gentle, and highly effective before, during, and post Cleanse. It doesn’t matter how nice and clean all the new furniture is, if the old items are not removed the renovation is useless. Colonics and enemas are perhaps the most effective method in assisting a Cleanse.
We recommend colonics as a first choice, before the use of herbal laxatives. Think it’s unnatural? How natural are those Twinkies you ate as a kid? We’ve got a lot of work to do, and we’re going to need some assistance. Try and schedule a colonic the first and last day of your Cleanse. Your body releases a lot of toxins during a Cleanse – if those toxins cannot escape (via colonic) they are reabsorbed into your blood stream.
Hydrate & Eliminate
Drink at least 12 oz. of filtered water between every juice. This will help stimulate bowel movements. If you are not eliminating you may wish to take one of the recommended brands below. And remember the most effective method is a colonic. You can get one before, during and after your Cleanse. Fun!

Mind Your Organs
Cleaning up what you eat means eliminating what you ate. This program triggers your body to gently start cleaning chemicals and toxins through your eliminatory organs. They’re all working together: the liver acts as the filter to remove foreign substances from your blood, then the kidneys filter the blood into the urine, while your lungs remove the exhaust you inhaled last week chasing the bus.
Your skin is your largest organ, and provides the most efficient and direct exit route for anything that needs to be “evacuated.”
* Exfoliation is key! Dry skin brushing before a shower, or before exercising will open up those eliminatory pores.
* Exercise and sweat; remember that after exercising, you should shower as soon as possible. Sweat is a wonderful release, but only if its washed off soon afterwards. If not, your skin reabsorbs it!
* A sauna or steam room is another trick to speed up any detox. Couple that with a series of Hot/Cold showers and you’ll feel like a new person. A hot bath works well too.
* Get a massage; if your masseuse is made aware that you’re cleansing and gently and slowly massages the liver, it could possibly DOUBLE the effects of your Cleanse! The liver gets extremely busy during a Cleanse and is conveniently located where we can reach it, applying physical manipulation to assist in its detox.
* Use any level Blueprint Cleanse alone or with your current diet to help stimulate and remove toxins.
The manuscript Blue Lines is the fictional coming of age narrative of a young California woman Key Yemaya Walker, and her 2 year growing journey through school, love, and life period piece, written by Kenneth Suffern, Jr., taking place at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between the years of 1997 – 1998. Loosely based on true events, and experiences during that time, told through the eyes and voice of the main female protagonist, a freshman first attending the school.
