I took of my hat,
I took off my clothes,
I warmed the water,
I washed away our past,
I washed away your smile,
Your laugh,
Your eyes,
Your scent,

I washed away my dreams,
I washed away my promises,
My heart,
My hope,
My love,

I let go of my memories,
I washed away your hugs,
I washed away our embrace,
Your hands,
Your taste,
Your skin,

I stepped out new and alone,
I dried off this new phoenix,
I dried myself into a new world,
My eyes,
My truth,
I’m washed.
