Blue Lines Blog – Words That Were Shared With Me

I wanted to write today, but did not have the opportunity. These words were shared with me, and are in line with the story I shared in yesterday’s What I Learned Sundays – Paths. Enjoy…I understand the thoughts, wants, and ideas shared here, and I want to share with you.

I looked into your eyes and couldn’t see past that moment. How was I to know that being so short sighted would have lead to losing you? I wandered through the everyday and somehow learned to put one foot in front of the other. I had found a place with solid ground. And then you were there! The ground shook and the air escaped me. I was transported to a time before. A time when YOU were my air and solid ground. Are you really here or is it just another mirage on the horizon? Now I look into your eyes and see forever. How many mountains will I have to climb to get to you? At each summit I face another peak. Standing on top of this mountain and seeing the range that lies in front of me I scream a promise to you…I will not stop!

The manuscript Blue Lines is the fictional coming of age narrative of a young California woman Key Yemaya Walker, and her 2 year growing journey through school, love, and life period piece, written by Kenneth Suffern, Jr., taking place at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between the years of 1997 – 1998. Loosely based on true events, and experiences during that time, told through the eyes and voice of the main female protagonist, a freshman first attending the school.

I woke up with the word “zephyr” stuck in my head. Thus this selection from the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s 8th Studio album “By The Way,” from 2002.
Zephyr
–noun
1. a gentle, mild breeze.
2. ( initial capital letter ) Literary . the west wind.
3. any of various things of fine, light quality, as fabric, yarn, etc.
Use zephyr in a Sentence
See images of zephyr
Search zephyr on the Web

——————————————————————————–

Origin:
before 1000 for def. 2; Middle English < Latin zephyrus < Greek zéphyros the west wind; replacing Middle English zeferus, zephirus, Old English zefferus < Latin as above

Blue Lines, Blue Lines Blog, choice, future, Key Yemaya Walker, Love, past, right, righteous, What I Learned Sundays, wrong, your story

Always so much to talk about…

This opening story may not be mine, true and partially embellished, but true none the less, but on many and most of the levels, I understand and empathize. Just as I do not know how this will end, I do not know where mine will progress.

His dark sordid eyes look to hers. “This is the last time we’ll see each other,” he sealed with a “final” kiss. He closed her door, but was quite away of the river of tears that careened down her face.

She sat in her car crying, as he, pained, drove home. The man that she had loved in the past was now unwillingly telling her goodbye for the last time. She image of Starbucks reflected sickeningly in her rearview, as she said goodbye to this man who had already left. Driving she had to pull over to clear the pain and tears from her heart before returning home.

He drove hating himself, knowing that he still loved her, and that decision they made 14 years ago now threatened everything that he knew. His mind slowly returned to Monday as he nervously sat in Starbucks waiting seeing her again. She had broken his heart without an explanation, and their love had been arrested…so he thought. They would never have a resolution. Prior to this meeting, they had aired and explained unsaid words. Continue reading →
