She asked me to make love to her like I loved her,
How could I share what was not mine to share,
Her eyes sordidly full of beauty,
Her voice full of high pitched melancholy,
What did we have to share,
Her body racked without my touch,
Future clear, though she wanted more in it,
Eyes averted, words like acid,
As I turned and walked away,
She asked to act as if I loved her.
