In 2006, having grown up a skinny kid, I developed a focused effort to lose weight and get in shape, by the close of 2007 I had lost over 60 lbs, and was almost at my high school weight of 180, but the close of 2008 I reached that weight. My fear was that I would put that weight back on, and though nowhere near where I was, I have out some back on, allowing life and excesses, and the inability yo put in the same effort I had to cause the partial steps backwards.

The manuscript Blue Lines is the fictional coming of age narrative of a young California woman Key Yemaya Walker, and her 2 year growing journey through school, love, and life period piece, written by Kenneth Suffern, Jr., taking place at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between the years of 1997 – 1998. Loosely based on true events, and experiences during that time, told through the eyes and voice of the main female protagonist, a freshman first attending the school.

Toni Morrison (born Chloe Ardelia Wofford February 18, 1931) is an American novelist, editor, and professor. Her novels are known for their epic themes, vivid dialogue, and richly detailed characters. Among her best known novels are The Bluest Eye, Sula, Song of Solomon and Beloved. She also was commissioned to write the libretto for a new opera, Margaret Garner, first performed in 2005. She won the Nobel Prize in 1993 and in 1987 the Pulitzer Prize for Beloved.
