A combination of Porta-Potties, Hot sun, VIP Showers, compressed hot bodies, cold, fog, band reunions, amazing covers, crowd surfing, 90’s classics, dirt, dubstep, car camping, road trips, bad artist scheduling, vacation, plane flights, MARTA, BART, gravel, fun!
A super-hot weekend in the California desert where NBA Basketball jerseys seemed to be the uniform, water was the best thing, and music was unbelievable. Enjoy.

The manuscript Blue Lines is the fictional coming of age narrative of a young California woman Key Yemaya Walker, and her 2 year growing journey through school, love, and life period piece, written by Kenneth Suffern, Jr., taking place at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between the years of 1997 – 1998. Loosely based on true events, and experiences during that time, told through the eyes and voice of the main female protagonist, a freshman first attending the school.

It has been a few weeks, but I finally got around to my Coachella Photo Essay. A few shots, that I still don’t really capture the weekend, but a post nonetheless. A hot weekend where NBA Basketball jerseys seemed to be the uniform. Enjoy.

Coachella Music And Arts Festival, Weekend 2 2012

Overhead view.

Alarm Clock…HOT!!!

The weekend boarding.

Good thing we rode on day one, before standing in long HOT lines.

AWOLNATION Frontman Aaron Bruno literally surfs the croud during a rousing rendition of their hit, “Sail.”

Yeah, that’s reading correctly…a whopping 107 Degrees…whew.

The amazing Gary Clark, Jr. performing “Things Are Changing,” instant zone-out song.

Feist during her powerful set, before Bon Iver.

SBTRKT Killing “Wildfire” with Vocals by Yukimi of Little Dragon and Drake.

Radiohead Destroying It!!!

The Beats By Dre tent, where we listened to bad Pitbulls songs, on great Dre Audio, and got AIR CONDITIONING!!!

The Do Lab, where they played LOUD Dub Step and sprayed you with waterhoses. Skipped that this year.

Everyone had the same idea, hide from sun, charge your phones.

Santigold after a late morning Sun nap.

Tupac Hologram rising to perform with Snoop.

Way to end…on Earth Day.

A beautiful sunrise, a bittersweet reminder of the weekend.

On the Road Home.

What I Learned Sundays (Monday) – Blurred Future

What did I learn???

There was not really anything poignant this week, that was out of the norm, that I can discuss.
It’s interesting that I have been recently dubbed, “Uncle Daddy,” because a few fam and friends say my new niece favors me…it’s called strong Cuban genes people…lol.
I feel that I need to go back to taking effort in understanding people, I think that I take my knowledge of them for granted, and they end up surprising me.
As my cousin stated, I need to read people by their actions, and not their words. One person is benefitting from this.
I still miss my infant niece who is exactly 8 months today (I love her). I made efforts to see my toddler niece, to no avail last weekend.
Appreciate the things you get, I’m still hyped off the random Beats By Dre earbuds I was given, GREAT SOUND!!!
It was amazing to have my favorite artists ReTweet my tweets twice last week.
I hate that I have one muse, but my muse is somehow inspiring a lot of new content lately.
However, I’m shocked at how much my recent works have impressed people (1 published, a whole lot of love from people who frequent my page and/or blog) I’m floored and thankful, I’m not one for praise and compliments, or thanks.
I wish my cuzzo would update her blog more.
Something that is evolving, is not playing out as poorly as I had feared. (No, not that).
I need change…really have thoughts of being like Kat right now.
I received the updated copyright for Blue Lines. A) Although it didn’t hit me as much as the first one, I wasn’t expecting it in the mail; B) Now my original artwork for the cover is copy written; I was happy to receive it.
I have new material to complete the painstaking last revision/edits of Blue Lines before I finally have it professionally edited and then start the shopping process.
Discovered a few new artists and music.

The photo, I call “Blurred Future,” it’s a hazy view of the Pacific from Golden Gate park. I call it that because I can see bits and parts of my future, things that I want for myself, however I don’t really know the route. Is San Francisco, and/or California necessarily that final destination…no, just one of many options. And it, the state are symbols of what I want.
