Check it out now..
Word up Son, s–t is ill kid..
Knahmsayin? Bein that we livin the motherf–kin trife life
Don’t have another day right?
It’s only right
Let me put you on to what happens Son, never believe this s–t
Kick that s–t

[Prodigy]
It’s just another day, drownin my troubles with a forty
That’s when I got the call from this brownskin shorty
She asked me where’s my crew at? Said we could do whatever
She got her crew too, and said that we should get together
I said, “Aight — just call me back in a hour
so I can take a shower and gather up the manpower”
Then I hung up the horn
And I thought to myself that it might be on
Cause this trick ain’t pick up the phone to call me in years (Why?)
Ever since I left the hoe lonely in tears
Ain’t no tellin what her friends puttin up in her ears
Ideas of settin me up, I’m not tryin ta hear
(Check it out, Son) So we take the gats for precautions
Plus this trick live in Brooklyn, home of the coffin
She might got a whole batallion of Bucktowners
Waitin for us to get up off the train and surround us
Or maybe, I’m blowin this s–t out of proportion
But this s–t do happen, to n—az very often
So f–k it, a n—a gotta do what he meant to
My crew got my back, f–k the world is my mental
We put together five soldiers, the bitch called
My blood curdled, told me to meet her on Myrtle
Got to the plaza, we’re waitin for the G train
We put a plan together, just in case the beef came

Evident is the emphasis, I deserve me a championship
But before I banana clip I’ma chill so my man can rip

Little man against Hellion with the heart of an orphan
I got the words of a murderer and an eye for distortion
You take a slice of my portion, I’ll take a piece of your profit
I drive at illegal speeds, Keep an O.Z in my pocket

A Blue Lines era song, referenced briefly in the manuscript.

[Noreaga]
yo, Nori know this, and Nori know that
but Nori know gat (why)
cause Nori buck dat
Iraq’ll make you famous
throwing gang signs like it’s sign language
distinguish us from the others
kidnap your baby mothers
bringing drama to the deep covers
salute g, bust you down like a lucie
Jose probably lay with a gold uzi
crunk Italy, Africa and Sicily
n—az acting sissy see
pointing guns and missing me
([Nas:] “Yo son, it’s on son”)
hey yo there’s beef in the hood again
n—az came with hoods again
thinking that it woulda been
saw us, from what we first did
when we did
now we twist another wig, a mother lose another kid
but it’s beef now, keep it short
real brief now
strike vigorous, no intentions of missing it
they sent the message, or example, whatever
set it up man on man
only to score we apply the plan
quickly explain why you ran in this dark land
we lay you down in the sand
on the lines like the internet
many would come if you would pose off
against my set, there ain’t a n—a yet
smoke so much, n—az say I need nicarette
you say bogie but you used to say cigarette
nine-oh, a new religion, a new beginning

When s–t hit the fan, is you still a fan?
When s–t hit the fan (one two, one two)

My current basic ring tone from De La Soul is Dead.
“Yes, this is Miss Renee king from Philadelphia. I want you to please
Give me a call on area code 215-222-4209 and I’m calling in reference
to the music business. Thank you.”

Dove:
Hey how ya doin’
Sorry ya can’t get through
Why don’t you leave your name
And your number
And I’ll get back to you
Hey how are ya doin’
Sorry ya can’t get through
But leave your name (uh)
And your number
And I’ll get back to you.

Once again it’s another rap bandit
Fiending at I and I can’t stand it
Wanna be down with the Day-Glo
Knocking on my door, saying, “a yo yo”
Knocking on my door, saying, “a yo yo”
“i got a funky new tune with a fly banjo”
I can’t understand what the problem is
I find it hard enough dealing with my own biz
How’d they get my name and number
Then I stop to think and wonder
Bout a plan, yo man, I gotta step out town
You wanna call me up? take my number down
It’s 222-2222
I got an answering machine that can talk to you
It goes

Way too much to quote altogether, enjoy one of the Classic Hip-Hop Moments in Hip Hop history!!!

The manuscript Blue Lines is the fictional coming of age narrative of a young California woman Key Yemaya Walker, and her 2 year growing journey through school, love, and life period piece, written by Kenneth Suffern, Jr., taking place at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between the years of 1997 – 1998. Loosely based on true events, and experiences during that time, told through the eyes and voice of the main female protagonist, a freshman first attending the school.
